The participants of the semi-final stage, which will determine the license holders for the Paris-2024 Summer Olympic Games, have been announced. All 5 athletes of the Azerbaijan national team qualified for the decisive match. Aliabbas Rzazade (57 kg), Haji Aliyev (65 kg), Turan Bayramov (74 kg), Osman Nurmagomedov (86 kg) and Giorgi Meshvildishvili (125 kg) will fight for a "ticket" to Paris-2024 in the semi-finals that will take place today.

Haji Aliyev started the competition with a victory over Khamzat Arsamerzouev (France). He defeated his opponent with a score of 5:2. Aliyev knocked out Niurgun Skriabin (INA) in the quarter-finals - 4:2. Haji will wrestle with Islam Dudayev (Albania) in the semi-finals.

Osman Nurmagomedov started the fight with Domantas Pauliuscenko (Lithuania). Azerbaijan's wrestler, who defeated his opponent with a score of 11:0, advanced to the 1/8 finals. At this stage, he faced the Swiss Samuel Sherrer and recorded this fight - 5:0. Osman defeated Magomed Ramazanov representing Bulgaria in the 1/4 finals with a score of 6:2 and advanced to the semi-finals. Nurmagomedov will face Vasyl Mikhailov (Ukraine) for the Olympic ticket.

In total, three wrestlers of our country got the right to participate in Paris-2024. Magomedkhan Magomedov (97 kg) won an Olympic license in freestyle, Hasrat Jafarov (67 kg) and Sanan Suleymanov (77 kg) in Greco-Roman wrestling.
