Parviz Nasibov revealed the secret of victory over Hasrat Jafarov

"Hasrat Jafarov is a good guy. He is young and promising."

Idman.biz reports that Olympic silver medalist Parviz Nasibov (67 kg) said this in a statement to the press service of the World Wrestling Union (UWW).

The Greco-Roman wrestler from Ukraine evaluated Hasrat Jafarov, the representative of Azerbaijan, who is a potential opponent at the Paris-2024 Summer Olympic Games. Nasibov, who defeated our athlete in the semi-finals of the first ranking tournament of the year, "Zagreb Open", spoke about the match in Croatia: "I expected that Jafarov would reach the semi-finals and that we would meet him. Together with the coaches, we analyzed him and studied his style. Therefore, his wrestling was not unexpected for me. He is very promising."

The wrestler born in Agstafa also mentioned the importance of Zagreb Open, where he won the title: "It was important for me to test myself in such tournaments before important competitions. I think that the competition in Croatia, included in the rating series, can be compared more or less to the level of the world championship. Because most of the leaders in our weight class participated here."

Nasibov is focused on the Europe Championship to be held in Bucharest on February 12-19, followed by the license tournament to be held in Baku on April 4-7: "I came third in the European Championship held last year. The World Championship was unsuccessful for me. I lost the first match there. Major events are ahead. I need to earn a license for the Olympics. I will do everything to win this qualification and repeat my result in Tokio. Maybe I will improve my Olympic result. I believe in this and I am doing everything possible to be in Paris."
