The best result was achieved by Azerbaijan national judo team. Azerbaijan tatami masters were the 1st among Azerbaijan teams with 2 golds.
The second place was shared by boxing and taekwondo. A silver was obtained in both categories.
Azerbaijan wrestling team, which won more medals, was satisfied with the 4th place. This is due to the fact that all awards are bronze.

Paris 2024 is the second Olympics where our judo team has surpassed other teams. In Beijing 2008, this type was more successful than we won gold only on tatami.
Only wrestling has been Azerbaijan main hope in the Olympics. Azerbaijani wrestlers, who have been our best team four times, have won a unified leadership in three of them, and in one of them, they "sat" jointly at the top.
But the last such victory of wrestling was recorded in London 2012. Taekwondo in Rio 2016, karate in Tokyo 2020, and judo in Paris 2024 were the strongest side of our nation.
In general, wrestling was not among the top 3 sports for the first time. Azerbaijani wrestlers, who were 1st in four of the previous 7 Olympics, took 2nd place three times. This time, the team was satisfied with only the 4th place among the teams.
In the remaining 8 Olympiads, 5 types were ahead of others. Wrestling was Azerbaijan most successful Olympic sport 4 times with one partner, judo 2, taekwondo and karate 1 each, and shooting with 1 partner.
