She evaluated the performance of the Azerbaijani national team, which performed successfully in the qualification stage of the rhythmic gymnastics team at the Paris-2024 Summer Olympic Games. The Secretary General said that the intense struggle was felt by all teams: "Because this is the Olympic Games, it is a big responsibility for every country. The world's attention is on Paris. Indeed, the progress of the qualifying round was very exciting. We know that our girls are very talented and persistent. Of course, they felt the responsibility of the Olympics. Our gymnasts fought until the end and performed their programs without making any serious mistakes during both performances."
According to Mammadzada, reaching the final stage again after 16 years is the result of hard work: "We were represented at the Olympics with our group gymnastics team for the first time in Beijing 2008 and qualified for the finals. After 16 years, this result was repeated and it is gratifying that the Azerbaijan national team is again at a decisive stage. This is the success of all of Azerbaijan. Not only rhythmic gymnastics, I would say that all types of gymnastics, as well as the qualification round of trampoline gymnastics, passed as finals. I think that if the first stage was so intense, the final will be more difficult. It's a sport. It is difficult to make any predictions. Most of the predictions made before the performances of the teams did not come true this time. Luck and the psychological state of athletes play a decisive role here. I wish success to all representatives of Azerbaijan, including our team of group movements. Our athletes have prepared very seriously and they know what they are capable of."
The Azerbaijan team, which scored 33,850 points with hoops, 28,150 points with three ribbons and two balls, finished the qualifying round on 8th place with a total of 62,000 points in two movements. The decisive stage will start tomorrow at 16:00 Baku time.
