The opening ceremony of the Third National Yaylag (Highland) Festival was held.
As Idman.biz reports, the event organized in Goygol was attended by Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov, Goygol Executive Judge Elvin Pashayev, athletes and members of the festival.
At the ceremony, national music was first played, and then various dance examples were shown. After that, a parade of representatives of Turkish states in historical costumes with flags took place.
The first day of festival featured the acquaintance with the Jidir Plain, the Highland market, Craftsman's corner, Dede Gorgud hearth, Pahlavan square, Ashiq Alasgar hearth, and Yaylag table thematic corners in Yaylag yurdu ethno-settlement located on the Khan plateau and other various themed areas, performances of ethnic music groups. Visitors got acquainted with performances of local collectives, aitysh, national dances, folk songs, examples of culture of the few peoples living in Azerbaijan, skits and theatrical compositions, ancient folk dances, handicrafts, and examples of national costumes.
The purpose of the festival is to promote the national and moral values of Azerbaijan, to preserve the culture of the steppes and the people and to promote it on an international scale.
The third National Yaylag Festival is organized by the Foundation for History and Culture "Javad Khan” and “Kap.az” tourism LLC, with the support of Azerbaijan’s Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBIA), the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Ministry of Agriculture, Azerbaijan’s State Tourism Agency, Ganja City Executive Authority, Goygol District Executive Authority, Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), and other institutions.
The first festival was held in 2019 in Gadabay district, and the second in 2022 in Goygol district.
