On December 6, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Youth and Sports, Farid Gayibov, received Mohamed Abdulkadir, Somalia’s Minister of Youth and Sports, who is a special guest at the D-8 Youth Dialogue in Baku.
According to Idman.Biz, citing the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan, the meeting focused on opportunities to expand cooperation between the two countries in youth policy and sports.

“Under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, a successful youth policy is being implemented in Azerbaijan, continuing the legacy of national leader Heydar Aliyev,” said Azerbaijan’s Minister of Youth and Sports, Farid Gayibov, speaking at the D-8 Youth Dialogue, Idman.Biz reports.
Discussing the steps taken to support youth development in the country, the minister noted:
“Numerous youth centers have been established, and various youth organizations are active. We are also engaged in international youth organizations. This year, we have organized several international events, and next year we will hold major events supported by the UN. This is a tremendous opportunity for us. Through these initiatives, we unite and coordinate youth proposals and ideas, including those around COP29. Young people have tremendous energy, and I am confident that they will actively participate in the D-8 Youth Dialogue as well.”
