Georgian UFC lightweight (70 kg) champion Ilia Topuria will not compete before spring 2026, Idman.Biz reports, citing Spanish journalist Alvaro Colmenero.
Colmenero stated: “Everything has changed significantly. There have been personal matters… You will be surprised by what happens in the lightweight division. I can confirm that Ilia will not fight in January. February? I highly doubt it. If you ask me, I think Ilia will fight in the spring.” (Championship Rounds)
The 28-year-old Georgian fighter has competed in the UFC since 2020. He became featherweight (65 kg) champion in 2024, successfully defending the title once, and claimed the lightweight title in 2025.
