Azerbaijan's youth judo team made history by winning a record number of gold medals at the international Bremen Masters held in Germany.
Idman.biz reports that the members of the team won 4 gold and 3 bronze medals and took the first place in the medal ranking, surpassing Japan, Uzbekistan and Germany.
Among our judokas, Mahammad Musayev (66 kg), Suleyman Aliyev (73 kg), Aslan Kotsoev (90 kg) and Kanan Nasibov (+100 kg) won gold medals by defeating all their opponents.
Babarahim Mirzayev (60 kg), Islam Rahimov (66 kg) and Tuncay Shamil (90 kg) took the third place.
Our team won 2 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze medals in Bremen last year.
It should be noted that the former winners of Bremen Masters have been successful in major international tournaments such as world championships and Olympic Games. Among them are Olympic champions Teddy Riner, Takanori Nagase, Mashu Baker and Aaron Wolf.
