"First of all, thank you very much for your hospitality. The facilities here are wonderful."
Idman.biz reports that Tatiana Lavrenchuk-Vizer, the head coach of the Republic of South Africa artistic gymnastics team, said this in an interview with the press service of the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation.
The experienced specialist said that she came to Azerbaijan with two gymnasts: "One of them is young and the other is older. The main goal is to prepare for the African Championship, but there are other goals. To reveal the capabilities of gymnasts and introduce them to the great world of gymnastics. Because gymnastics in the Republic of South Africa is poorly developed is a sport. And in Azerbaijan, it has developed very strongly. Gymnastics is paid a lot of attention here. The current conditions are at a high level and everything is very nice. In my opinion, it is great. Your success is the great work of Mrs. Mariana Vasileva and her entire team. I think this is an incredible achievement".
Emphasizing that gymnastics is developing very slowly in Africa, Vizer said that the state pays a lot of attention and care to this sport: "It can be said that Egypt has support for this sport. Other countries, mainly those who have a great passion and love for gymnastics, take care of this sport."
She also emphasized that she was born in Baku: "I lived here for half of my life. I graduated from the Kirov Institute of Sports (now ASAPES). I worked as a coach in Burevestnik. At that time, I was the head coach of Azerbaijan and won the title of Azerbaijan champion eight times. Our friend invited us just for a visit. When we visited there, we were called to help in the gym. That's when my desire to work there as a coach started. Baku is my hometown. It was always beautiful, but now it's even more beautiful. Yesterday evening, my former students and I went for a walk around the city. Baku has always been the Land of Fire, and now the lights are burning everywhere, it's bright, it's beautiful. I enjoy it. I'm very glad to be here."
She advised all our gymnasts to do their work with love: "Do gymnastics with love. Because in order to achieve success, you need to perform at a high level. And it doesn't matter what medal you win."
