The 35th round of the Misli Premier League has come to a close, leaving little suspense for the season finale.
As Idman.biz reports, this past weekend's results have turned the final matchday into a formality.
Araz-Nakhchivan secured both the bronze medal and a spot in the UEFA Conference League, while Turan Tovuz, finishing 4th, keeps its European hopes alive via the cup final.
The top and bottom of the table have long been settled — Qarabag are champions, Zira claim silver, and Sabail are confirmed for relegation.
With nearly all key positions decided, the last round poses only two relatively insignificant questions: who will finish 5th and who will end in 8th?
With 45 points, Sabah must avoid losing in their head-to-head against Neftchi to remain in the top half of the table. Trailing by 2 points, the black-and-whites must win to finish in the top five.
Another pointless position battle will be between Kapaz and Sumgayit for 8th place, determined through parallel matches. Representing Ganja with 32 points, Kapaz will face Turan Tovuz, while Sumgayit, two points behind, will visit Sabail.
In this championship, where Qarabag has secured 1st, Zira 2nd, Araz-Nakhchivan 3rd, and Turan Tovuz 4th, it has also been confirmed that Shamakhi will finish 7th. Sabail, meanwhile, has firmly “claimed” the 10th spot.
Notably, the final round matches will take place from May 23 to 25.
