Sabail faces relegation deadline as final three rounds approach in Premier League – ANALYSIS

As the final three rounds of the Misli Premier League approach, three teams are still at risk of relegation to the First Division.

Alongside the league's bottom team, Sabail, both Sumgayit and Kapaz are not yet safe from losing their spots in the top division, Idman.biz reports.

However, at least one of these teams might breathe a sigh of relief after this weekend's matches.

No room for error: Sabail face their limit

Sabail has officially reached its limit for losing points in the Premier League. The Baku-based team must win all of their remaining three matches and rely on other results to survive. Any loss of points will send Sabail to the First Division. Their next match is crucial, as they will host Zira on May 10. If Sabail drops points, they will say goodbye to the Premier League.

Sabail's Last 3 Matches:

Round 34: Zira (H)

Round 35: Neftchi (A)

Round 36: Sumgayit (H)

One point will do: Sumgayit and Kapaz edge closer

The other two teams fighting relegation will face each other in a crucial match in Tovuz. Sumgayit only needs a draw to secure their place in the Premier League, as long as Sabail doesn’t win. Of course, the outcome of the Zira vs Sabail match on the same weekend will also play a role in determining their fate.

Sumgayit’s Last 3 Matches:

Round 34: Kapaz (H)

Round 35: Turan Tovuz (A)

Round 36: Sabail (H)

Kapaz seeks a victory

For Kapaz, a win in the next match is all they need to secure their survival in the Premier League. Even if Sabail wins all of their remaining matches, a single win would be enough to keep Kapaz in the top division. Azar Bagirov’s team will aim to secure the three points in their first match, as the upcoming two fixtures will be more challenging.

Kapaz’s last 3 matches:

Round 34: Sumgayit (A)

Round 35: Qarabag (A)

Round 36: Turan Tovuz (H)

The 34th round will take place between May 9-11.
