The former Qarabag player Maksim Medvedev gave a statement to Idman.biz.
He commented on the away match between Zira and Sheriff in the first qualifying round of the Europa League. The defender, who also played at Azerbaijan, said that it is difficult to say a specific word about the representative of Tiraspol: "At the time, when playing with us, Sheriff had a very good effect. Later, when we met, we saw a completely different team. It is not clear where the situation of the Moldovans is at the moment."
According to Medvedev, looking at the last games of Zira, it seems they are getting stronger: "The team is strong enough to play with Sheriff. I would like Zira to win the first game so that the team's morale is high and it can show their strength against Sheriff in the return match.”
The first meeting between Sheriff and Zira will take place today at 21:00 at the Sheriff Sports Complex. The return match will be held a week later at Liv Bona Dea Arena.
