Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal has been removed from the Spain national team squad after undergoing a medical procedure without notifying the federation, Idman.Biz reports.
“The medical department of the Royal Spanish Football Federation expresses its surprise and concern upon learning that on November 10, the first day of the official training camp with the national team, Lamine Yamal underwent an invasive radiofrequency procedure to treat pubic discomfort that same morning.
This procedure was carried out without prior notification to the national team’s medical staff, who only learned the details from a report received last night at 22:40, which included a doctor’s recommendation for 7–10 days of rest.
Given the situation and consistently prioritizing the player’s health, safety, and well-being, the Royal Spanish Football Federation has decided to release the player from this call-up. We believe in his successful recovery and wish him a speedy and full return to health,” the Spain national team press service stated on the federation’s official website.
