The management of “Qarabag” Football Club has rewarded the team following their 2–2 draw against “Chelsea” in the fourth round of the UEFA Champions League.
According to Idman.Biz, citing Publika.az, the club, which had promised high payments to the players in advance, more than fulfilled its commitment.
The leadership had promised 120,000 AZN for a win and 65–70,000 AZN for a draw. They were highly satisfied with the performance in the match, considering the draw against the London club equivalent to a victory. The players’ fighting spirit, determination to win, and the global attention the game received pleased Qarabag’s management.
As a result, the bonus for the draw was increased, and the Azerbaijani champions’ players will now receive between 80–90,000 AZN for the Chelsea match.
Earlier this season, Qarabag rewarded players with 100,000 AZN for a win over Benfica and 70,000 AZN for defeating Copenhagen in the UEFA Champions League.
