Ultramarathon winner: "I dedicate the victory to the martyrs"

Idman.biz reports that Artyom Aliyev, the winner of the Khankendi-Baku ultramarathon, said this in his statement to journalists.

The winner of the 55-km Gobustan-Baku route, as well as the 380-km total ultramarathon, said that he dedicated his victory to the martyrs: "Azerbaijani athletes trained and competed as a family. We remembered our martyrs every second of the ultramarathon. I dedicate the victory to our martyrs."

It should be noted that the participants of the ultramarathon reached Baku after crossing the Khankendi - Yevlakh (83 km), Yevlakh - Ujar (84 km), Ujar - Hajigabul (88 km), Hajigabul - Gobustan (70 km) and Gobustan - Baku (55 km) stages. A total of 64 athletes competed in the 380 km ultramarathon, and 17 of them reached the finish line. Among the athletes were representatives of Turkiye, Mexico, and Moldova.
