The Khankendi - Baku ultramarathon held jointly with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Baku City Circuit, and Azerbaijan Athletics Federation was concluded today.
Idman.biz reports that the athletes covered the distance from Gobustan to Baku in the fifth stage of the competition.
On the last day of the marathon, organized under the slogan Run Forward Proudly, the participants ran 55 km and identified the strongest. At the final stage in Baku, Artyom Aliyev reached the finish line first. He was also named the winner of the overall stage. Yadigar Huseynov took second place, and Seymur Shahbazov took third place.
The participants of the ultramarathon, which started in Khankendi on February 29, have so far completed the Khankendi - Yevlax (83 km), Yevlax - Ujar (84 km), Ujar - Hajigabul (88 km), Hajigabul - Gobustan (70 km) stages. The winners of each stage of the competition were awarded separately. The overall winners of the ultra-marathon were awarded the grand prize.
It should be noted that a total of 64 athletes started fighting in the 380 km ultramarathon and 17 of them fought until the end. Among the athletes were representatives of Turkiye, Mexico, and Moldova.
