The World Wrestling Union has prepared an article about the U-23 World Championship, which will start on October 23 in Tirana (Albania).
The main favorites of the competition in the freestyle have been mentioned in the article. The names of three Azerbaijani wrestlers are included in the list.
Ziraddin Bayramov is one of the main favorites of the 65 kg weight category. It was brought to attention that Bayramov is a two-time silver medalist of the U-20 World Championship. At the same time, it was brought to attention that he wrestled for the first time at this level and was third in the tournament dedicated to the memory of "Yasar Dogu".
In 74 kg, another Azerbaijani wrestler, Jabrayil Hajiyev performed well. His victory at the U-20 World Championship in 2022 was mentioned. According to the World Wrestling Federation, Ashraf Ashirov is among the main favorites in the 79 kg weight category.
It should be noted that 26 wrestlers will represent Azerbaijan at the U-23 World Championship. The competition will end on October 29.
