The staff of Azerbaijan's national wrestling teams has been announced.
Idman.biz reports that 14 athletes will represent Azerbaijan at the European Olympic Qualifying Tournament to be held in Baku.
The Azerbaijan national freestyle wrestling team will be represented in five out of six weight categories. Since Magomedkhan Magomedov already won a license for Paris in 97 kg weight, he will not represent Azerbaijan in this weight. Aliabbas Rzazade (57 kg), Haji Aliyev (65 kg), Turan Bayramov (74 kg), Osman Nurmagomedov (86 kg) and Giorgi Meshvildishvili (125 kg) will fight for a qualification to the Paris-2024 Summer Olympic Games.
Azerbaijani Greco-Roman wrestlers will be represented in 4 weights. Nihat Mammadli (60 kg), Islam Abbasov (87 kg), Murad Ahmadiyev (97 kg) and Beka Kandelaki (130 kg) will join Hasrat Jafarov (67 kg) and Sanan Suleymanov (77 kg), who have already qualified for the French capital.
Our women's national team will be represented in 5 weights. Only our heavyweight athlete will not fight. Maria Stadnik (50 kg), Elnura Mammadova (53 kg), Jala Aliyeva (57 kg), Birgul Soltanova (62 kg) and Elis Manolova (68 kg) will test their strength for a license to Paris-2024.
It should be noted that 301 wrestlers will compete for 36 licenses in the competition to be held on April 5-7.
