Freestyle Roman Dmitriev Memorial 2024 continues in Yakutsk, Russia.

Idman.biz informs that under the leadership of Rovshan Hajiyev, the coach of the Azerbaijani national team, 3 wrestlers took to the mat in a traditional competition.

Aykhan Abdullazade (65 kg) won 6:0 against Russian Aytal Gromov in the 1/16 final. Due to injury, our wrestler lost the match against another Russian, Daniil Bodnar, in the 1/8 finals.

Aganazar Novruzov (74 kg) won the Russian Bair Tsydenova in the 1/8 final - 12:2. In the next round, our compatriot eliminated another representative of this country, Amgalan Tsydeyev, from the fight - 10:0. Novruzov lost to Askhab Khadjiyev from Kazakhstan in the semi-finals with a minimal difference (1:2). Aganazar finished the tournament with a bronze medal, stronger than the local athlete Andrey Rumyantsev (6:4).

Ismayil Rahimli (70 kg) won in the 1/8 finals against Sergey Yakimov with a score of 6:1, but in the 1/4 finals he lost to Khabib Zavurbekov, another wrestler from the host country - 3:9.
