Four wrestling halls opened in Geichay

Four wrestling halls have been put into operation in Geichay, designed to prepare athletes in all wrestling disciplines.

According to Idman.Biz, citing the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation, the opening of the facilities took place as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen sports infrastructure and the material and technical base in the regions. The opening ceremony was attended by Azerbaijan’s Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov, vice-presidents of the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation Namig Aliyev, Namig Abdullayev and Farid Mansurov, as well as the federation’s secretary general Parvin Piriev.

Within the framework of cooperation between the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation and the Ministry of Science and Education, the sports halls of secondary schools No. 1, No. 3 and No. 6 in Geichay, as well as a secondary school in the village of Garabaggall, were fully renovated. The facilities are now completely ready for the training process.

Training sessions in all four halls will be held free of charge. It is noted that the created conditions make it possible for more than 600 athletes to train simultaneously.

The Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation plans to continue opening new wrestling halls in the regions of the country throughout the year.
