Lionel Messi delivered a standout performance for Inter Miami, scoring twice and providing an assist in the first half of his side's Leagues Cup clash against Atlético San Luis.
As reported by İdman.Biz, the 39-year-old Argentine opened the scoring in the 11th minute by converting a low cross from the left with a first-time finish. He struck again in the 44th minute, evading defenders inside the penalty area before scoring from close range.
The eight-time Ballon d'Or winner also set up Mikael late in the first half as Inter Miami took a commanding 4-1 lead into the break before sealing a 4-2 victory.
The goals were Messi's first for his club since the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The Argentina captain finished the tournament with eight goals and four assists, although his team suffered a 1-0 defeat to Spain in the final.
Prior to this match, Messi featured in Inter Miami's 2-2 MLS draw against Columbus Crew, but failed to get on the scoresheet.
