Portugal head coach Jorge Jesus has spoken about the situation involving Cristiano Ronaldo following his team's 4-2 victory over Denmark in the third round of the UEFA Nations League.
As reported by İdman.Biz, citing Record, the 72-year-old coach said Ronaldo's departure from the national team camp had not affected his position.
"There are players with a certain status, but the rules are the same for everyone. I have always thought this way throughout my career, and I will continue to do so," Jesus said.
The Portuguese coach also assessed his team's performance against Denmark.
"The team believes in what we are doing collectively. For me, this was our best match so far. That is normal because we have now had more time to work. I was able to work on positional attacks. Goncalo Ramos' goal was an excellent goal that came from a positional attack, and Felix's was as well.
"Everyone knows that we need to improve in all five phases of the game. It was a big win, and we scored some excellent goals," he added.
Jesus was appointed Portugal head coach in the summer of 2026. Under his leadership, the national team has won all three of its matches.
