The General Meeting of the Azerbaijan Weightlifting Federation was held.

Federation president Kamran Nabizade, vice-presidents Mirsamed Movsumzade and Firdovsi Umudov, head of the Sports Department of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan Elnur Mammadov, members of the federation, experts and other guests took part in the event.
The president of the organization, Kamran Nabizade, delivered a speech and said that as a result of Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev's high attention and care to sports, our representatives have achieved great success in international arenas. Emphasizing that regular victories have been achieved as a result of the support given to weightlifting, he drew attention to the achievement of Dadash Dadashbeyli, who was awarded a gold medal at the European Championship held in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, on February 12-20. Nabizade noted that in order to further improve the results of the federation, increasing the mass and doing it especially in the regions, as well as all other works in the direction of the development of weightlifting, the development line has been chosen through the creation of new clubs and support to existing clubs, and they are confidently moving forward on this path. The president of the federation said that relations with European and International Weightlifting Federations have been strengthened, especially in the anti-doping policy issues, joint steps have been taken and this has been appreciated by international organizations.
Then the agenda was discussed and a number of decisions were made. The request for premature termination of the powers of AWF Board members Nihatbey Mammadli and Anar Huseynov due to the large number of cases was considered. The General Meeting accepted their request and Maksim Javadov and Fakhri Mehdiyev were elected as members of the Management Board.
Later, elections to the Control-Inspection Commission were held. Gunduz Mammadov was elected the chairman of the institution, while Bilal Maharramov and Telman Shukurlu were elected as members.
At the end, opinions and suggestions of federation members and weightlifting experts were heard and discussions were held.
