Sahin Catma explained the reason of the Azerbaijani national team for giving a bad account of itself in the EEVZA Championship

"We represent Azerbaijani volleyball in Latvia. We have already played 4 matches. Volleyball players born in 2007-2008 play abroad for the first time. We selected 14 of the 30-member team and brought them here."

Sahin Catma, the Turkish head coach of Azerbaijan's junior and young girls' volleyball team, told Idman.biz.

An experienced specialist explained the reason for the failure in the Eastern European Volleyball Zone Association (EEVZA) Championship among under-18 volleyball players in Daugavpils. He said that the main problem in losing 4 consecutive games without winning 1 set is that competitions for lower age groups are not held in Azerbaijan: "After the changes in the Volleyball Federation, the goal is to eliminate this. I came to Azerbaijan for this. We want to advance our volleyball with a big plan. We cannot develop this in the country through exercises. We have to leave Azerbaijan. We need to learn the experiences of world practice."
According to Catma, it is impossible to teach young volleyball players by showing them any game, they must overcome this difficulty by regularly participating in international competitions: "We knew what we would face before coming to EEVZA."

The coach expressed confidence that the poor result in the meetings will disappear in the next competitions: "We will live with this for a long time. Because our competitors in the competition are strong. We should not look at the results. Our main goal is to develop our volleyball players. In order not to experience the same problems as those born in 2011-2014, we should start working now. The competitions here are important for us."

It should be noted that the national team of Azerbaijan will face Poland in this general championship.
