"I am both proud and very happy to have come to Azerbaijan."
Jahangir Seyed-Abbasi, the new head coach of the Azerbaijan national team consisting of the teen and young, told Idman.biz.
The Iranian specialist commented on his arrival to the national team. He said that the offer came from the Azerbaijan Volleyball Federation: "I believe that I will justify the federation's trust in me. We have one goal. It is also training volleyball players for the adult team. Of course, we cannot achieve this soon, but we will work to achieve this goal for a long time.”
According to Abbasi, he will work not only with teenagers and young volleyball players, but with children of all age groups: "For this reason, our first task is to bring the physical indicators of Azerbaijani volleyball closer to world standards. So we have to rebuild everything. We have selected tall and talented children from all regions of the country. We will work together with the most promising ones among them. This is what the Federation expects. This is the right direction. Boys' volleyball is one step behind girls' volleyball in Azerbaijan. Our federation has eliminated this backlog and expects results from the boys together with the girls."
It should be noted that Abbasi invited 5 teenagers from Guba, Gusar and Khachmaz regions to the Baku camp 3 days ago.
