Azerbaijan’s para-swimmer Raman Salei, who won four medals at the World Championships in Singapore, has vowed to represent his country with honor at the 2028 Paralympic Games.
Idman.biz, citing Report news agency, reports that the 31-year-old athlete reflected on his recent performance: “Overall, I am satisfied with my results, but I always strive to improve. Like every athlete, I went to the competition to win medals. I expected three, but I ended up with four.”
Salei, a three-time Paralympic champion competing in the S12 category, concluded the World Championships with one gold, one silver, and two bronze medals. He won gold in the 100m backstroke, silver in the 50m freestyle, and bronze in both the 100m butterfly and 100m freestyle.
Regarding the 2028 Summer Paralympics in the United States, Salei said: “It is difficult to make predictions with three years to go, but one thing is certain: I will proudly represent Azerbaijan.”
