Azerbaijan ranks seventh in the medal standings at the Universiade held in Germany’s Rhine-Ruhr region.
Correspondent of Idman.biz in Germany reports that Azerbaijan’s group team in rhythmic gymnastics won a gold medal in the all-around event, boosting the country to seventh place overall.
The team, consisting of Laman Alimuradova, Darya Sorokina, Gullu Aghalarzade, Yelyzaveta Luzan, and Kamilla Aliyeva, will compete in two more finals today to continue their success.
In the overall medal standings, Azerbaijan is ahead of countries such as Japan, Ukraine, Hungary, Denmark, and several others.
Currently, the United States leads the rankings with 5 gold, 3 silver, and 8 bronze medals, followed by South Korea in second place (3-4-2), and China in third (2-4-2).
