Azerbaijani fighter contributed to lightweight division’s success in UFC rankings

The leading UFC divisions by the number of bonuses awarded for the best fights in 2025 have been revealed.

According to Idman.biz, the lightweight division topped the rankings, with its fighters earning 26 bonuses, ahead of the middleweight division, which recorded 21.

It is worth noting that Azerbaijani UFC fighter Nazim Sadykhov, who also competes in the lightweight division, contributed to this so-called success. At the UFC event in Baku on June 21 this year, Sadykhov received a bonus for his victory over Brazilian fighter Nicolas Motta. However, in his most recent UFC bout, Nazim Sadykhov suffered a defeat, losing to French fighter Fares Ziam in Las Vegas.

Two other Azerbaijani fighters, Rafael Fiziev and Tofiq Musayev, also compete in the lightweight division, but they did not receive any bonuses for their fights in 2025.

Returning to the rankings, the men’s bantamweight division placed third with 16 bonuses. Fighters in the welterweight and featherweight divisions earned 14 bonuses each, heavyweights collected 12, while the flyweight and light heavyweight divisions finished the year with 11 bonuses apiece.

The least exciting divisions in terms of bonuses were the women’s categories. The strawweight division earned seven bonuses, while the flyweight and bantamweight divisions received four each.

It should also be added that the current UFC lightweight champion is Spanish-Georgian fighter Ilia Topuria.
