Individual competitions in the Judo World Youth Championship in Odivelas, Portugal ended today.
Idman.biz reports that on the fourth day of the World Cup, the strongest in 4 more weight classes were revealed.
Azerbaijan was represented in 3 of these weights. None of the judokas was able to get a place on the podium.
Thus, the Azerbaijani national team finished the 4-day World Championship with 3 medals. Vusal Galandarzada (73 kg) won the title of champion in Azerbaijani team. Nizami Imranov (60 kg) and Vugar Talibov (90 kg) scored at the second place.

Ramazan Ahmadov, the heaviest judoka of Azerbaijan, wrestled with Ibrahimjon Elmurodov (Tajikistan) in the 1/16 finals. He won the stage thanks to a confident victory. Ahmadov then defeated Romanian Darius Georgescu and Polish Grzegorz Teresinski and advanced to the semi-finals. Unfortunately, our judoka lost to Turkish Ibrahim Tataroglu on the way to the final.
Another representative of Türkiye, Minur Ertugla, tried his strength for the bronze medal. The match ended with the victory of the competitor.

Narmin Amirli joined the fight in the World Championship from the 1/16 final. Although she defeated Aya Gaballa (Egypt) at the start, she was later defeated by Eva Buddenkotte (Germany).

Nigar Suleymanova's first match was in the 1/16 final. Azerbaijani judoka, who won over Marcelina Vranjes (Croatia), lost to Japanese Mao Arai in the 1/8 finals.
It should be noted that the team competition will be held in the World Championship on October 8.
