The second day of Judo Grand Prix held in Odivelas, Portugal is over.
Idman.biz reports that the Azerbaijani national team has won another medal.
3 judokas, representing Azerbaijan,came out on the tatami. Among them, Saeid Mollaei (81 kg) won the bronze medal of the tournament. He, who beat Adrián Gandía (Puerto Rico) in the first round, defeated his Spanish opponent Alfonso Urquiza in the 1/8 finals. Said could not repeat the same success in the 1/4 finals and lost to Yoshito Hojo (Japan). After that, he won the consolation match against the representative of Azerbaijan, Khasan Khalmurzaev (AIN), and in the bronze match, he won against Nurbek Murtozoev (Uzbekistan).
Two athletes of Azerbaijan competed in the 73 kg weight class. Rashid Mammadaliyev lost to South Korean Guan-Heng Chen Kangu in the very first match. Although Nurlan Osmanov defeated his French opponent Reda Seddouki, he lost to the Mongolian athlete in the next fight.
It should be noted that on the first day of the competition, Yashar Najafov (66 kg) won silver, Turan Bayramov (60 kg) and Kamran Suleymanov (66 kg) won bronze medals.
