A meeting of the Supervisory Board of Sumgayit Football Club has been held.
The session took place at the administrative building of "Azerikimya" PU, where the club's new head coach, Sasa Ilic, was formally introduced to the board members, Idman.biz reports.
The 47-year-old Serbian coach, who holds a UEFA Pro License, signed a one-year contract along with his assistants.
During the meeting, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Elnur Mammadli, wished Ilic success and briefed the members on the club’s plans for the upcoming season. He emphasized that the support of the city of Sumgayit and its residents is always felt, and that the club’s leadership will do everything possible to make their loyal fans proud.
Club President Riad Rafiyev also spoke about the team’s pre-season training plans and preparation strategy.
In his remarks, Sasa Ilic thanked the club’s leadership for the trust shown in him and expressed his commitment to ensuring Sumgayit FC represents the city with pride and delivers a successful season.
After the meeting, Ilic toured the Mehdi Huseynzade Sumgayit City Stadium and the SOCAR Polymer training base.
