The Basque side sealed its spot during Matchday 36 of LaLiga. With a 2–0 win over Getafe, Ernesto Valverde’s team guaranteed a top-five finish with two matches still to play.
Athletic will return to the Champions League after an 11-year absence—their last appearance was in the 2014/15 season.
Currently, the club sits 4th in the table with 67 points.
