The new European Cup season started for Azerbaijani clubs.
As Idman.biz reports, Zira, Azerbaijan's only representative that started the competition from the 1st qualifying stage, played their first game in the Europa League.
Rashad Sadygov's students were guests of Sheriff in Moldova. Zira scored the winning goal in the 88th minute of the match. Davit Volkovi scored the only goal that decided the fate of the game. The difficult victory gave the eagles a great advantage on the eve of the return match.
The return match will be held on July 18 in Baku.
