"After three defeats in the championship, we managed to beat Difai again. The start of the match was not good for us as we conceded early, but we recovered and secured 3 points with 3 goals," said İlham Yadullayev, head coach of First League side MOIK.
The 49-year-old specialist explained the reasons behind his team’s inconsistent performances.
"I want to thank my players. Inconsistent results do not satisfy us. We don’t have problems in terms of gameplay. In most matches, we look stronger than our opponents. However, we fail to capitalize on scoring opportunities and, in turn, concede goals. We try to play dominant football, but opponents take advantage of it and catch us on counterattacks. At the start of the season, key players were injured, so we had to make adjustments to the system. Until the end of the year, we need to achieve maximum results. We cannot be satisfied with our current position in the standings. I have spoken with the players. We aim to move up the table before winter, and after winter, we will compete for higher positions."
After 9 rounds, MOIK has 8 points and is currently 8th in the league standings.
