Germany national team head coach Julian Nagelsmann has commented on the results of the 2026 World Cup draw.
As Idman.biz reports, Germany will play in Group E at the tournament. Their opponents will be Ecuador, Ivory Coast and Curaçao.
"The group is not easy, but it’s possible to advance to the next stage. We want to win our matches in the group stage. The most important thing is to move step by step, successfully get through all the games, and reach the playoffs. Every opponent deserves respect. But it’s completely normal to think about who we might face in the next rounds and who we may need to beat there.
It will be interesting to analyze Curaçao. But we will not make the mistake of underestimating them. Ivory Coast is a team we can beat, but again, we must not underestimate them. Ecuador will not be easy. They have real stars in their squad; they finished second in the qualifiers behind Argentina," Nagelsmann told AP News.
The World Cup will be hosted by three countries: the United States, Canada and Mexico. For the first time in the tournament’s history, 48 national teams will participate. The championship will take place from June 11 to July 19, 2026.
