The women's saber national team of Azerbaijan finished the stage competition of the World Cup held in the capital of Greece, Athens.
Idman.biz reports that the team consisting of Anna Bashta, Palina Kaspiarovich, Sabina Karimova, and Valeriya Bolshakova lost to Bulgaria in the match for the qualification to the 1/4 finals.
The opponent won with a score of 45:44.
In the matches for the 9th-16th places, Azerbaijan’s team defeated the saber players of Mexico (45:39), Greece (45:34) and Poland (45:44) and finished the competition in the 9th place.
Only Palina Kaspiarovich, the strongest, managed to advance to the 1/16 finals in the individual competition of female saber fencers.
