Vusal Iskanderli: "There were many problems in Albania, I don't consider my transition as stepping back" - INTERVIEW

Interview with Idman.biz of Azerbaijani football player Vusal Iskanderli, who was transferred to Boluspor, a representative of Turkiye's First League.

- You signed a contract with Boluspor a day ago. How were you received in the team?

- There are players here who were rivals against me before. But they welcomed me very well and sincerely.

- What was the main reason for leaving Egnatiya, where you played in the elite in Albania?

- People think that I am making an excuse when I bring up a reason. But there were many problems in Albania. I didn't know the language, I couldn't eat their food. Also, the condition of the fields for training was not good. Hopefully, I will do my best and go higher.

- But let's take into account that you left the 1st club in Albania and moved to the 10th in the 1st league of Turkey. Don't you consider this a step backwards?

- I don't think so. I will prove it to everyone in time.

- You played in the First league in Turkiye before. Compared to Albania, which championship is more competitive?

- According to me, the Turkish league is stronger. The number of clubs is also large. In this sense, there is an interesting competition. The club has made many transfers. The goal is to at least play in the playoffs.

- Boluspor scored only 13 goals in 17 games. With your arrival, the Turkish press thinks that the club's productivity problem will disappear. Will you be able to cope with this responsible task?

- Of course, I will do my best and try to help my club score a lot of goals. We have a good head coach. He trusts the players. I will do everything to justify his faith.
