The European Judo Union has announced the ranking of parajudokas.
According to Idman.biz website information, the leader of the Azerbaijan national team, Khanim Huseynova, is among the leaders.
She is ranked first in 70 kg and has 1650 points.
Our two-time Paralympic champion Ilham Zakiyev, who competes in the J1 category in the +90 kg weight category, is 3rd in the rating table with 1450 points. In the list led by Brazilian Willianz De Araujo, Moldavan Ion Basok took the 2nd place. Our other parajudoka Namiq Abbasli (J2) is in the 4th place with 1168 points in the 73 kg weight category.
It should be noted that at the Paris-2024 Summer Paralympic Games, men and women will compete in eight weight categories. According to the rating, 102 participants (54 men and 48 women) will qualify for the competition. Until the end of the Paralympic qualifying round, there are three tournaments of parajudokas, the first of which will be held in Germany on February 17-18.
