The Azerbaijani kickboxing national team set a record in the World Championship held in Albufeira, Portugal.
According to Idman.biz, the team achieved this in the number of medals in the World Cup, where 1369 athletes from 70 countries participated.
The Azerbaijani national team won 6 gold, 1 silver, and 6 bronze awards. Among the kickboxers, Subhan Mamedov, Elvin Mammadov, Amin Guliyev and Surat Garayev won the champion title. Orkhan Malikov won silver, Eljan Alkishiyev, Rauf Gerayzade, Farid Agamoghlanov, Allahverdi Demirov, Ramiz Mammadov and Gasham Mammadov won bronze medals.
Eduard Mammadov, who participated in the age category of veterans, finished the competition with 2 gold medals in 2 different versions.
