One of the main priorities of the Azerbaijan Judo Federation (AJF) is the development of judo and improvement of infrastructure in the regions.
Since 2022, the federation has distributed more than 10,000 tatami mats to 120 sports halls in Baku and the regions, providing over 2,000 young athletes with the opportunity to train for free, Idman.biz reports.
Between 2022 and 2025, judo halls have been opened by the AJF in Ganja, Sumgayit, Gusar, Aghstafa, Zagatala, Goranboy, Sabirabad, the village of Agali in Zangilan, Zira settlement in Baku, Agdash, Kurdamir, Astara, Jalilabad, Tartar, and Qakh. New judo halls will also soon open in Imishli, Shabran, and the village of Mosul in Zagatala.
