European Judo Union: The next stop is Azerbaijan

The European Judo Union (EJU) recently recalled a similar event held last weekend in Kocaeli, Turkiye, and shared its expectations for the upcoming meeting in Baku.

According to the EJU, over 450 children participated in the European Judo Hopes Tournament and technical sessions with Kodokan experts Misato Nakamura and Telma Monteiro in Kocaeli. "It was a great success and laid the foundation for such events, Idman.biz reports.

Although the program is still in its early stages, the interest and organization reflect the efforts of federations and clubs to prepare the new generation for judo. Young judokas from all over Europe not only meet their peers but also learn from world-class coaches and meet elite athletes with years of experience.

The next stop is Azerbaijan. The country, which will host the 2026 World Championships, is already focusing on the development of the younger generation and invites all its neighbors and friends across Europe to Baku for the European Hopes Tournament and technical sessions with Kodokan experts."

The event will take place on July 26-27 at the Absheron Olympic Sports Complex.
