Ilgar Gurbanov, a former football player of the Azerbaijan national team, told Idman.biz.
The 37-year-old specialist, who is a national selector, commented on the Azerbaijan-Bulgaria (1:1) match in FIFA Series-2024. He said that some of the players had difficulties in certain episodes due to their lack of form: "They were attacking from the first minutes. They created scoring chances. I was pleased to see mainly young players - Musa Gurbanli, Jeyhun Nuriyev, Emil Mustafayev. As before, the tendency to defend is felt. But the game and the result show that they reveal their potential. They attack more, they don't sit in defense. Overall it wasn't bad. After conceding a goal, the team started to attack. We had chances to stand out. The main thing is that they were willing."
It should be noted that Azerbaijan won 1:0 against Mongolia in the first match of the FIFA Series-2024 held for the first time.
