Former Azerbaijan national team coach Gianni De Biasi has issued a warning to Napoli ahead of their UEFA Champions League group stage match against Qarabag.
Idman.Biz reports that the Italian expert told his country’s media that the Azerbaijani champions have several dangerous players in their squad.
De Biasi singled out five Qarabag players: “Nariman Akhundzade can give the team a serious advantage thanks to his physical strength and precise strikes. I’ve worked with him in the national team and I’m confident in his high potential.”
He also highlighted two more players for Napoli to watch — defender Elvin Jafarguliyev and midfielder Toral Bayramov: “Toral may not get many chances in the Champions League, but his long-range shots are always a threat. Jafarguliyev actively joins the attack and can easily put opposing defenses under pressure.”
Among foreign players, De Biasi emphasized Leandro Andrade and Marko Jankovic: “Andrade is the team’s key figure. He sees open spaces well and is skilled at directing accurate shots on goal. Napoli must also watch Marko Jankovic. The Montenegro international plays a central role in organizing the team’s play, operating in front of the defense and controlling the game’s rhythm.”
The Napoli – Qarabag match will take place on November 25 at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium, with kickoff at 23:59 Baku time.
