A total of 71 goals were scored across 18 matches played on October 21 and 22 as part of the third round of the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League group stage, Idman.Biz reports, citing UEFA’s press service.
This figure represents a new record for scoring productivity in the history of the competition. The previous record — 67 goals in 18 matches — had been registered twice: in the first round of the current season and in the fifth round of last season’s Champions League.
On October 21, teams netted 43 goals across the first nine matches of the round, while the second matchday saw 28 more goals scored.
This marks the first time in the history of Europe’s premier club competition that more than 70 goals have been scored in a single round.
At present, PSG lead the standings with 9 points, followed by Bayern Munich, who have the same total. Inter, Arsenal, and Real Madrid occupy third to fifth place, also level on points.
