“In other countries, the players of these sports are completely separate”
"The team and Azerbaijan championship also prove that classic basketball is the beauty of this sport. 3X3 never has such fans and atmosphere."
This was said by Amil Hamzayev, the basketball player of the Azerbaijan national team, who was a guest of the Idman Bizde program.
The 34-year-old captain of the team compared 3x3 with classic basketball. He said that he wants these types to be separated in Azerbaijan: "We play 3X3 out of necessity. In other countries, the players of these sports are completely separate. Those in the 3X3 national team do not participate in the other type. But we don't have many basketball players to separate him. The last one I am thinking of participating in is the 2025 Islamic Solidarity Games. After performing decently in 3x3 basketball there, I would like to bring a different model to that competition as well. It is possible to bring in young staff who are engaged in this type of sport throughout the season. Because 3X3 basketball competitions start from April and continue until December. For this, a full young team should be formed."
