A remarkable event took place in the history of the Kjarnafed league football tournament held in Akureyri, Iceland.
Idman.biz reports that the match was refereed by Icelander Zakir Jon Hasanov of Azerbaijani origin.
On the sidelines, he was helped by his daughter Leyla Osk, the youngest referee of the Icelandic Football Federation, and his colleague Svein Tordi Thordarson.
"This is the first and only case in the tournament. It's really nice to see young girls showing interest in refereeing," Icelandic media wrote.
It should be noted that Zakir Hasanov is the chairman of "Azeri" Iceland-Azerbaijan Society.
