"We have started a training camp in Vladikavkaz. The mood is very good at the moment. We have many ambitious athletes in the team. Among them are world and European champions. Our hopes are high. We will do our best to participate well in the competition."
Idman.biz reports this referring to the head coach of the Azerbaijan national team in freestyle wrestling, Jabrayil Hasanov.
The team continues to prepare for the World Championship of under-23 wrestlers. The main goal of the meeting in Vladikavkaz, Russia is to get to know the team's latest situation. According to Hasanov, the World Cup will be more difficult than the previous ones: "We saw that there was a champion from Bahrain in the last world championship. It is now possible to see Russian wrestlers in every country. But the most serious competitors in the competition in Tirana are, of course, Russia and the USA."
The Olympic medalist is optimistic about the future of U-23 wrestlers. He said that those currently in this team will soon have their say in the main team: "We have many ambitious young sportsmen. I can give examples of Ziraddin Bayramov, Ashraf Ashurov, Kanan Heybatov, Jabrayil Gajiyev, Ruslan Abdullayev. I believe that these names will make a name for themselves in international competitions in the future."
It should be noted that the U-23 World Championship will be held in Tirana, the capital of Albania, from October 23 to 29.
