The athlete who will replace Abdulrashid Sadulaev, who was not admitted to the European Olympic Qualifying Tournament for wrestling to be held in Baku, has been announced.
Idman.biz reports that Khadzhimurat Gatsalov, head coach of the Russian freestyle wrestling team, announced this.
He said that Alikhan Zhabrailov will replace Sadulaev in the 97 kg category: "The situation is extremely unpleasant. In a hurry, we were able to include Zhabrailov in the team. He is in good shape and ready to race. I think that Alikhan has the power to win a license in Baku, thereby closing the issue of the 97 kg license.”
It should be noted that the three-day tournament will start tomorrow.
