Azerbaijan Mountaineering Federation (AAF) held the next ice climbing festival in the frozen waterfalls near Laza village of Gusar.
Idman.biz reports that 76 people participated in the festival.
Routes of different levels of complexity were presented for the participants. Athletes had the opportunity to test their strength in disciplines of complexity and speed.
Festival organizers held training classes for those who are new to ice climbing.
It should be noted that AAF promotes and develops mountaineering, ice climbing, rock climbing, dry-tooling, sport climbing, sky-racing, as well as mountain tourism.
The International Olympic Committee accepted ice climbing as an Olympic sport, and the International Mountaineering Federation (UIAA - International Climbing and Mountaineering Federation) is working to include this dynamic sport in the official program of the Winter Games.
