Sabah have recorded their fourth consecutive victory without conceding a goal at the start of the 2026/27 Azerbaijan Premier League season.
As reported by İdman.Biz, citing the Professional Football League, this is only the fourth time in the history of Azerbaijan's top flight that a team has started a season with four straight wins and four clean sheets.
Khazri achieved the feat in the 1995/96 season, Khazar Lankaran repeated it in 2017/18, while Qarabag did the same in 2019/20.
However, Sabah have produced the most impressive goal difference among the four teams. Khazri scored six unanswered goals during their run, while Khazar Lankaran and Qarabag both had a 10-0 goal difference. Sabah have gone one better, scoring 11 goals without conceding.
In the fifth round, Sabah defeated Shafa 3-0 away from home to register the club's 10th big-margin away victory in the Premier League. The Baku side became the 11th team in the history of the competition to record at least 10 such away wins.
Sabah's first big-margin away victory came against Sabail on December 16, 2021, when they also won 3-0.
Veljko Simic, who scored against Shafa, also reached a personal milestone by netting his 20th goal for Sabah in his 46th appearance for the club.
The Serbian midfielder has scored 13 goals in 31 Premier League matches, one in six Azerbaijan Cup appearances and six in nine UEFA Champions League games.
